Christmas Day

Christmas morning was filled with so much excitement this year. It took me back to when I was a little girl. I will never forget the jitters I felt as soon as I woke on Christmas morning. I remember waking my sister and waiting anxiously at the top of the stairs for our parents to invite us downstairs.

What a joy to watch the boys experience it too! Yes, this is a pickle ornament. If you knows the Alexander boys at all, you know this is the PERFECT ornament for our tree. If only we had a block of cheese to hang next to it.

Bed head at it's best. Helping mommy with her gifts.

Test driving some of their gifts... and teaching one another the ropes.

We headed out in the afternoon to Uncle Dan's for a 2nd Christmas.

Boy, was it fun!

I managed to slack on the pictures, but I did get a snapshot of Dan's amazing tree!

Thanks for hosting and for all of our goodies!

Great Country Farms

Today we enjoyed the incredibly beautiful weather by driving out west, to Great Country Farms.
This place is packed full of fun.
Here is Reed in search of the perfect pumpkin.

Jack and Mommy hanging out in the wagon.
The prize!
After pumpkin picking, our afternoon was filled with hula-hooping,
jumping (without Daddy's help this time! Sniff. Sniff),

watching pig races with friends,

checking out our family tree,

being silly,

and taking a few trips down the slides.

Jack slept through most of the fun - so we had to capture a picture in the trunk of the car!
Happy Fall!

Pros

The handsome man in this picture is my Uncle Walter (Pros - short for Prosser). He recently passed away due to complications with Alzheimer's Disease. There are absolutely no words to describe this amazing man or how I felt about him. He always had a story to tell, a hug to share and a tear in his eye.
I will miss him dearly...

Farm Fun

We have had a very busy weekend. Not sure if we are staying busy to keep our minds off of the impending change or because we are antsy and need to get out. We visited Volcano Island (a great little pool/water park) Friday night and then the Herndon Festival yesterday. This morning we woke up and went to our local farmer's market and then off to the 'real' farm we went. Reed loved all of the different animals, especially getting up close and personal.

Look! Evidence Mommy did participate in the weekend activities.

What a wonderful weekend - looking forward to an even more exciting week ahead!

Strawberry Jubilee

When I was growing up, one of my favorite things to do was to pick fresh fruit with my family. Today we drove 30 miles west and hit a wonderful little place called Great Country Farms.Reed could not pick (devour) the strawberries fast enough.
Everyone in the fields was distracted by Reed's constant commenting - "YUMMY Mommy! YUMMY Daddy!"

Mommy and let's be honest Daddy, was thrilled that she didn't go into labor in the fields.

Jackpot!
We took a break from the pickin' and had some good, clean fun -
bouncing and
sliding.
What a wonderful way to spend one of our last weekends as a family of 3!

Miss you!

We had such a fun visit with Aunt Lindsay last weekend! We are so proud of all of her hard work and accomplishments over the past few years...stop making us all look so bad. :)
Love and miss you!

Girls Night Out

Saturday I was lucky enough to spend the evening with two of my favorite gals, my sister and niece Haley. We went to the Kennedy Center to see Knuffle Bunny and then topped it off with pizza and milkshakes.
Thanks for a much needed night out girls!
